GAZA IN THE MEDIA
(Update 07.09.2008) The following list is a collection of media
responses to the Free Gaza Movement's boat trip from Cyprus to Gaza
available on the internet. The list is steadily updated. It is not
comprehensive, but covers most of the relevant articles and some audios
and videos, also for non-English coverage. Arabic is still missing,
sorry, any volunteers? As there is more and more material not every item
can be posted to the Free Gaza website, so here you have access to the
bulk of the coverage.

Sailing into Gaza
26 August 2008
On Saturday, after 32 hours on the high seas, I sailed into the port of
Gaza City with 45 other citizens from around the world in defiance of
Israel's blockade. We traveled from Cyprus with humanitarian provisions
for Palestinians living under siege. My family in Michigan was worried
sick. |

Greta's Report on Monday's Fishing
(Monday, August 25)
I sat at the front of the fishing boat, one of six that went out
this morning. They are old wooden boats, outfitted with bits and pieces
of mechanical parts, rope twisted together and fishing nets. Israel has
refused to let Palestinians fish in their own waters for the past 15
months. Even before that, they restricted Palestinian fishermen to
around 6 miles. |

Free Gaza Party
25-8-2008
The free Gaza boat party has sailed this
morning into the free Gaza Sea in a fishing trip. They are 10 miles into
the sea now, sailing in Palestinian fishing boats. All are
full of joy as Palestinian fishermen & for the first time they are
reaching this distance, as the Israeli have always restricted the
fishing area at six miles |
